Battlefield 5 - Dolby Digital 5.1 Through Spdif

    Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone with audio knowledge could help me.

I have a Creative Sound Blaster Z + Logitech Z5500 5.1 speaker system - connected by analogue in 6 channel mode, i get 5.1 sound in Battlefield 5 - all good there.

However, over SPDIF (Toslink) digital connection, I just get stereo, and control unit for my speakers doesn't light up with the Dolby Digital logo i.e. no 5.1 sound.

Does Battlefield 5 not produce a Dolby Digital audio stream? If not, I'm guessing that's why I only get stereo if I connect with SPDIF, but I get surround sound if I connect by analogue.

Annoying because I suffer from some EMI interference on my analogue connection (a high pitched background noise), which I am going to have to attempt to troubleshoot. It's annoying when my speakers are on and I'm not playing any sound, it's not too noticeable when I am playing sound.

    Many thanks!

did you find an answer for this as I get 7.1 on my headphones but not 5.1 on my speakers that are connected with SPDIF?
