Hello all I have been recently looking at cheap windows tablets ( i wouldn't pay the surface price ) and after a lot of searching i quite like the PIPO W3F now what do you guys think? or is there an better one out their? ( onda? etc ) don't want to pay much and it seems i can get the PIPO W3F with keyboard for around £130 I want it mainly for a little work but always wanted a full PC ability in a tablet ( if limited by speed etc )
Has no one ever used one of these or any knowledge of these ( the main drawback is support it seems if something g oes wrong )
It looks quite good, but I suffice with my phone and PC. The problem for me with tablets is its worth getting something a bit more expensive that has spares. I have two very decent performing tablets with cracked screens and can't get replacements at a reasonable price. So personally would pay slightly more for something that I can repair. I looks worthy of a punt, if your looking for reassurance.
Aye SexyHyde i am, i can't seem to find anything close or better in specs for the same money, I hear you on the spares though, if anything goes on this i will be screwed, but prob only use for a while ( I am an android man really, but love the idea of a mobile PC to use in conjunction with my main PC ). the Linx 10 seemed like a more safe option, but the screen is awful on it http://www.techradar.com/reviews/pc-mac/tablets/linx-10-1291585/review has anyone else got any ideas on a decent 8.1 windows machine for around the same price
I would say the screen was pretty decent for a budget device being IPS and above 720p. For what you say your looking for I would go with the PIPO W3F, it's keyboard cover should provide protection against damage enough you don't have to trawl the net looking for parts.
I chickened out and went for a PRODUCTTOTAL Venue 11 Pro (5130) Tablet Intel Atom Z3770 1.46GHz 2Gb 64Gb 10.8" FHD. Win 8.1 1yr WTY £129.00 i know its not as fast as an i5 version but couldn't knock the price ( worked out at £160 with VAT on and delivery from UK etc ) i saw it everywhere else for £300, hope it has an activated windows 8.1 and no dead pixels etc
Remember, that within 14 days of receipt you can usually cancel and send it back Distance Selling Regs - 2014 https://www.gov.uk/government/uploa...-additional-payments-regulations-guidance.pdf
Taa matey, aye will do. I know its not the specs of a surface pro, but hope it might run photoshop and an old game
I have an i3-4020Y version of the Dell Venue 11 Pro, which I paid £204 for in November. If it wasn't for the lack of an Ethernet port and the glossy screen, it would be pretty much perfect. I don't use it as a tablet, however; I have the keyboard/battery accessory, so it spends almost all of it's time in laptop mode. It's just too big to use as a tablet, in my opinion. The 8" nVidia Shield tablet is about as big as I can cope with when it comes to tablets.
If you find that it doesn't come with Windows 8.1, you can download the Windows 10 Preview from the Microsoft site. You can use that for the next six months or so for free, before Microsoft deactivate it. I have been running it on my Venue 11 for months without any issues. It does take a bit of getting used to, admittedly, but I've not had any performance or stability problems, which is the important thing.
Aye had that in mind thanks for info though, it suppose to come with 8.1, but we will see. Could do with game ideas that can run on the tablet ( might try sacrifice again on it ) just want backup game on there .
Its arrived and its a great bit of kit! the screen is amazing and the build feels good, just hate windows 8.1 ( ganna have to get used to it and customize it ) How much did you pay for your keyboard cover? just looking now and not sure which one to get
You can always jump on Windows 10 now it will auto update and roll over into the retail version as you have genuine 8.1.
I have both the "slim" and the "mobile" keyboards. The slim cost me £45 from eBay, but I don't really use it. I prefer the mobile keyboard, as it basically turns the table into a small laptop. I paid £40 for the mobile keyboard, but I got it cheap because it has a Norwegian layout. As a touch-typist, the layout doesn't bother me.
Ace stuff thank you both I think i will just get a cheap cover first and then buy the keyboard later, are there any PC games which work well with touch screen on tablet?
