    Good evening, ladies and gentlemen,

    As the previous thread has been lost aboard the old forum, I figured it would be prudent to recreate it here. The purpose of this thread is to discuss your anti-fat activities - including, but not limited to, your diet and exercise efforts. For example;

    I've been lax since starting my new job at the end of September, and now I'm back up to 176lb. In order to give myself the motivation to get out and train, I've entered a couple of 10k races in the next month. I've also entered the Croydon half marathon in March, and last by by no means least, the Edinburgh marathon in May. That last one is now official; I've paid my entry fee, and I've booked my hotel room. I just need to sort out my flights, and then it's simply a matter of training consistently for the next 7 months.

    How go your efforts to get and stay slim?

    My update is still stuck the same for the last 2 months it seems. I managed to lose 33kg so far this year. Wanted to get to 50, doesn't look too good, but going to try for 7 more at least.

    Got another 10k race next week in Kingston. Then I have to get through the winter without becoming a lazy son of a bitch, and onwards to the marathon :D

    Thanks MG :)

    I forgot to mention that I've also entered the London Duathalon in September next year. I've put myself down for the classic event, which is a 10k run followed by a 44k ride, finishing with a 5k run. I would like to get around in under 3 hours, which I should be able to do assuming I keep up the training. 2014 is shaping up to be quite a busy year for me with regards to events :)

    Managed to do a 5 mile run last night, my fitness has went to pot since the GNR. Determined to regain as much as i can before the New Year so i can start it on a high.

    That's a good strategy dude. I've struggled with being consistent with my training this year, and from what I can gather you've had a tough time with it too. Are you going to try to get back into a routine with running every 2-3 days?

    By the way, how's your weight at the moment? Have you managed to avoid gaining any?

    Put quite a bit on post GNR, same **** as last year.

    What time would you like to finish it in?

    Based on my recent 10k times, my predicted marathon time is 4hr 24 minutes. I should be able to do it more quickly than that, though; I am aiming for a sub 4hr. To be honest, though, I'll be thrilled if I can get around it in one piece.

    Good news, gentlemen. I did the Kingston 10k this morning;

    http://www.strava.com/activities/98085128

    I was fine until the 4k mark, then all hell broke loose in my bowels. I suffered pretty much the rest of the way around, though it did ease off towards the end of the race. The course itself was really nice; no busy main roads to cross, and no spiteful hills. I'd almost certainly do it again.

    No more races this year that I can enter, so it's a case of keeping my willpower up and battle through to January.

    Well done Saundie, I had plans for Brighton 10k marathon back last year when I training for the RAF.. but Knee surgery has a nasty way of changing those plans.. Currently keep "fit" by doing a set of sit ups / press ups / chin ups "nightly" (Read every other night as I have got lazy)
    Soon as knee is sorted.. back to losing of weight, I went from 224lbs to 154lbs in 6months, and would like to hit 145lbs ish as optimum.
    Any tips for fitness that doesnt involve the knees?

    Bad news always follows good news, ok so I get to add the bad.

    I tore my achillies Friday and pretty much can't walk without Mortis stabbing me in the heal. Bloody painful. Worst part is, my bad knee is the same leg and because of the limp has decided to show signs of a tear as well! So tomorrow I get a full MRI, merry Christmas.

    That said good job James, you are my hero not superhero just hero, if you had an iPad or iPhone you would be super :)
