  1. ah titan mode, did they ever sort out the lag when the titans moved? i'll forever remember the games we had on the tunis harbour map, the fear when you heard the foot steps of the walkers and the shaking of the screen. I agree with you redders rush was naff but I loved conquest especially on the larger maps which were sadly lacking I found.

    Tunis?
Just been through nearly 500 screenshots of us playing BF2142. Great memories, knife fights, pod surfing, nade spamming, sniper hunting. And the best medic on our server was -BFB- ?
    Anyone remember her name?

Only one line for the megabus memory redders, I am disappointed. You even forgot that I was the megabus pilot most the time. Remember when we recognised that we could actually kill the fighter pilots and started hunting them? That was awesome. Also, we did loop the loops, at first with lots of failure but when we finally got it right we had hours of fun doing nothing but loop the loops, awesome times.

Megabus is the best gaming memory I have of the old BFB servers, the most fun I've ever had... ever really. I couldn't sleep after those games because I had too much fun.

Was it -BFB- Foxy? I remember she was quite a good medic, if my memory serves me well that is.

That brings back more memories of redders and myself playing medic and using nothing else but the defib to fight. We would revive each other right after we died even if it was impossible to get back from the spot you died into cover, it was hilarious.

Thinking about it, my best memories at BFB all include redders, even the first game I played on their server.

I still have it installed, my old account had been 'stolen/hacked' so was given the deluxe pack free on Origin but I lost my pre-order ltd edition Scar-L. :(

I am terrible for nostalgia and all that and more often than not I often romaticise the old days.

Nothing and I mean nothing would make me happier for a remake of 2142 whether it be console or PC. And even then it would still not be the same. BFB could be as big as it was back then but still I would feel underwhelmed.

The days of Mia, martin, porky, ferdy, puni, neonlighter etc and so many more people besides having great teamwork ethic and the ability to match but even better personalities to match are long gone.

As good or as much as I loved 2142 for all the nade spamming, titan storming and all that for me it was about the people. Billybedlam, hiddensniper, crestj so many that are gone I will sorely miss.

For me it was about the people. Look at the most played game on the pc League of legends has a userbase of 12 million+ but I find at least 90% of the commuinity toxic.

Sure we had out fair share of people who on the BFB servers who were toxic and more than likely some members who were but not the amount like the Lol commuinity.

Dammit how could i forget you! Here let me make it up to you without making you feel gushy or embarassed. Here goes...

You are with out a doubt in my opinion one of the nicest if not THE nicest person I have ever squadded with. You are the very definition of why online gaming is still worthwhile and why there is still hope for humanity squadding with you. You are the type of person it is a privilege and and a pleasure regardless of what platform and what genre you are playing.

My earliest memory of you (correct me if I am wrong as my memory is getting on a bit and not as good as it use to be) was at 50k. I had just joined because of a friend RRRuss (who would then go on to co found BFB and then go onto GQ).

I loved BF2 at the time even though I seriously bad at it and didn't want to transisition to 2142 cos I don;t do pew pew and all that malarkey. So I distinctly remember squadding a lot with you and I hated driving the vehicles (tanks mainly) as that was even worse than my infantry combat so you did a lot of the driving and that's how I met you. I quite often felt alienated at 50k as I was the newcomer or maybe I didn't want to get to know the peeps at 50klicks as all I was focused on was gaming on BF2.

I do remember however squadding with weets and trash and that is a nightmare and also a totally different story. I remember squadding quite a bit with MG as well as he was the only 50k founder who gave me the time of day so for that reason alone he always has my utmost respect regardless and OMG I loved squadding with Lard. Probably the only other player I can think who was as bad as me but his enthusiasm and 'look on the bright side of life' mentality was infectious. Now he was really fun to squad with, terrible with vehicles though.

it was so memorable squadding wise you click join squad and you could be with tolly, jock, amy or join another and it could M, weets, trash join another it could be snaily, redrooster, rumi and the great thing was I got on with all them so there was never any awkwardness or feeling out of place.

When you have so many people who also turn out to be the nicest people congregated onto a single server every night it hard to beat it. In fact regardless of what happens to BFB in the future back then that was the 'golden' period and deep down in my heart it will never be like that again. Having said that I would still love for 2142 to be remade and to squad with the newcomers to BFB and the old dogs.

Also worthy of note my greatest moment at BFB would have to be either when I nade spammed rumi so much in the titan corridors so much he smashed his keyboard up which he didn;t admit at the time but then later confessed to us. The late night Teamspeak recordings...or funnily enough again I nade spammed the titan corridor so much that an old member Yggur posted a thread about it. I am not sure if I was solely the reason although I could of been a contributory factor but boy did that thread get hot in there. I was like ouch ouch my ears are burning. I fonly we had the archives of the old BFB sites. So much good content in there worth re-reading

And yours in mine. My BC2 knife kills account for over 7% of my kills, I know I had it around 12% but unbinded my knife button to stop me using it.

I think I have a screenshot where I used the engineer power tool on you and then you type in chat "oh no you didn't!"

lol. I was obsessed with slicing and dicing. I remember times where I'd get a heli lift into enemy lines and stalk out anyone that had knifed me, One time I set up a squad to ambush about ten enemies but I knifed about 7 before they got to the choke point.

I was lucky with my first CS clan/server, I met some great people there that showed just how awesome teamwork / balancing and humiliating each other was. A few of us transitioned over to 50K, where we had what felt like a sub group in there, the unwashed regulars that put fun before stats.

You remember right about BF2, If my memory is correct as well. One of the best games was you and me on Karkand driving a tank and apc, 3 or 4 minions capping flags and we just drove all over the map having a blast, talking **** and being n00bs in tanks.

**If you ever stumble on that screenshot I would love to have it - I was always in a state of shock when I got knifed and I remember some n00b engi tooling me unsuccesfully for ages and my brain just could register someone was trying to tool me for about 5 seconds.
