So taking the GTX 780 GFX card i got from Redders as a starting point I have got my daughter a load more components with the aim of her building herself a reasonably performing PC that can cope with modern games, as well as allow her the opportunity to document her build and use it for course credit. So components in the bag already are as follows 3XS Z87 OC10 overclocked bundle. comprising http://3xs.scan.co.uk/configurator/z87oc10 Intel core I5 4670K Overclocked to 4.4ghz. 3XS only Asus Z87-A Mobo Corsair Vengeance pro 1866Mhz Memory 2 X 4 gb Phanteks u-Type PH-TC12dx cooler 240 Gb PNy Prevail Endurance pro SSD http://www.scan.co.uk/products/240g...mlc-flash-read-550mb-s-write-520mb-s-85000-io 1Tb Hitachi Sata3 HDD http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1tb-hitachi-travelstar-7k1000-25-sata-6gb-s-7200rpm-32mb-cache-13ms BDR-208DBK 15x Blu-ray writer Windows 7 Permium OEM I know she likes the look of a red Bitfenix prodigy case, but not sure if this will all fit in or not. http://www.scan.co.uk/products/240g...mlc-flash-read-550mb-s-write-520mb-s-85000-io Not meant to be top of the line, just a reasonable standard on a budgie - but i am more than happy for the gorks to critique.
I have a full up system in a similar case, and know the size of the case which is why i questioned it. that is the only reason i havent bought her a case yet, but portability is obviously a bonus where She will want to use on different sites
the z87-a is a standard atx board wont fit in any small cases need a midi at least or consider another bundle that isnt overclocked there are options for small form bundles in the value section also if buying from scan look at the today only offers you can usually get something 5-10% cheaper from the there
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-317-CM&groupid=2362&catid=2277 £65 and it comes with "Ergonomic steel reinforced carrying handles" it's on a special at OCUK but you can get it for £74 delivered from CCL if the offer runs out. Otherwise it appears to be a £90 case. Seems like a good midi tower. good cable management / routing and motherboard tray has a cut out for cpu coolers with back plates. And The 780 will fit in WITHOUT having to remove the hard drive cage.
