Thinking of building this, want something to last a good 3-4 years

    Case: Silverstone SG08
Motherboard: Motherboard ASUS MAXIMUS VII IMPACT
Memory: System Memory Kingston 16 gigabytes KIT DDR3 HyperX 2400MHz CL11 Series Beast
    Processor: Intel Core i7-4790K
GPU: GIGABYTE GeForce GTX TITAN Black
SSD: Corsair Force Series GT 240 gigabytes
    HDD: 1TB WD Black

    Total cost: 1602

Comments, suggestions? Remember I'm in Czech so not always so easy to get the right thing, but I suppose I can afford shipping from the UK.

The only two things I'd question are the graphics card and SSD. I don't think the premium on the Force GT SSD is worth it, the Intel 530 or Crucial M500 would be indistinguishable in performance for less. As for the graphics card I can understand the double precision performance if doing professional 3D editing with it, brilliant card for that, otherwise the GTX 980 is cheaper and faster for gaming.

    System looks really good.

Thanks for the advice. Have to find a card that will fit the case.

The case you've selected claims to "support graphics cards up to 12.2 inches and 400W". The Titan Z is a mere 10.5" in length. For half the price, however, you can get a GTX 980 that will offer superior gaming performance. Of course, it lacks the bragging rights of the Titan.

Don't waste time with AMD, they have nothing equivalent to the GTX 980 in terms of performance.

yah looking at the 980 or the 970 now. 600w ps should handle anything im going to throw at it.

Unless you are planning on gaming at 4k resolution, the GTX 970 is entirely adequate. Even at 4k it can cope so long as you're prepared to drop to lower quality settings. I have a GTX 970 on order to replace the awful 290x I made the mistake of buying last week, so I should be able to give you my opinion of it soon.

I am running the GTX 970 right now and now complaints at all. Runs everything at max settings with fps to spare. There is nothing bad about this card. I personally went for the MSI version which also has the fact that the fans don't spin when under no load and it moderates it's own speed.

Absolutly fantastic card for the price and am definatly considering going SLI with it.

why go SLI if you already can run everything on high? maybe i am missing something here? :)

The GTX 970 has arrived, as has the Dell P2415Q. What a combo! Dishonoured at 3840 x 2160 is astonishing :D

is a 4k monitor worth the purchase right now? What content is in 4k right now?

Most games support 3840 x 2160, which is the most compelling reason for having a 4k monitor. It's also quite handy for remote control of other machines, I can see a pair of 1920 x 1080 displays at the same time with room to spare on a single monitor.

There's some native 4k film content out there, including some on netflix, but it's quite sparse at the moment. I wouldn't buy a 4k monitor for films, personally, though 1080p films are displayed just fine.

I have too many monitors though....

    Samsung Nvidia 3D 22"
    Hanns.g 28"
Some other brand (maybe LG) 24" (was one of the highest rated TN panel monitors on the market at the time)
    Apple 27" Thunderbolt
17" Sony IPS entertainment style monitor
15" dell for my server with a desk clip stand (keeps it off to the side of the server on the rack)

So why not, since im starting a business I can probably use the others somehow. Almost have enough computers for each monitor too!!!

You'll need to go for a dual GTX 980 system, with an i7-5960x and 64GB of RAM.
