I am jealous of the mouse, GorkedWings19. I am sorely tempted to buy one, even though my first gen Mamba is still hanging on in there...

I have the first, second and now this one.

The first one I lent to my brother as a temporary mouse and he lost it....

The second I am still using for my second pc. And I am putting this one trhough it paces.

It feels like mamba just with flashy lights. THe texture that is used to cover the mouse is slightly different more abbrasive. I guess for the grip factor. But I never been a grip type of user. I like to rest the palm of my hand on top of the mouse.

In my opinion I prefer the the older mamba feel in the hand compared to this one. I prefer the smoothness. Now this one has adjustable 'force something' or another where you can alter how much pressure is needed to activate the left and right mouse button clicks. Not something I think I will be adjusting but it might suit some people depending on what games they play.

Also since I last used the synapse software 'wtf' it acutally works. Before I had massive issues with it and hated it like hell. I just set it and haven;t been in it ever since. Now it actually seems to 'work'. Do I think it worth upgrading if you already have a mamba first or second gen? Hell no, especially not for £135. But I am going through a flashy shiny led phase so it had to be done.

Do you use the horizontal scroll feature? I miss horizontal scrolling on my old school Mamba...

Sexy>Midlife crisis? I finished that when I was like 20....:)

James>I personally don't use it and I never did on my first gen mamba. So if that's something that you utilise a lot then it may be a justifable reason to get it.

I love the feel and the shape of the old ones and button placements. That not to say that this iteration feels horrible in the hand. It perfectly fine. But if you are use to the old feel and button placements then I like that more. For example the DPI changer is in the middle of the mouse below the scroll wheel. So part of my middle finger sits on the button. So in everyday non gaming usage I have not hit it. But in gaming it could happen as you use more presses in general and get more frantic in teh heat of the action.

Ironically enough for a mouse that is aimed at the hardcore/pro gamer I have yet to play a game using it.

£135 is a lot of pennies for a mouse, especially when my Mamba is still working... and I don't really play games these days.

I wonder why they moved the DPI modifier buttons from the far edge of the left button to the middle of the mouse - do people really switch DPI that often??

showing off :) how much power does it consume?

James>I totally agree. It is very expensive for what it is unless of course you are a pro gamer who is sponsored and get this kind of stuff for free. I set the DPI once and don;t touch it so I really dislike where it is posistioned now. Speaking for myself only I don;t switch DPI between games or stuff personally. THis is regardless if I am browsing youtube, playing league of legends or playing GTA V the DPI always remains constant.

Abby> Do you mean how much power the whole setup uses? I don't know if I am totally honest with you. WOnder if I can guesstimate it. So a stock nvidia 980 ti will use about what 240w mine are heavily overclocked and sli'ed so at a stab in the dark there is 600w there. Stock haswell-e will be about 140w max but again mine is overclocked So i think it will be at least close to about 180-190w add in another 50w for bits and bobs although I don;t have any hard drives whatsoever and no sata ssd's. So roughly about 850w I would guess

So as an update to what been happening. I have been enjoying The Divison a lot and I like to play in the early hours of the morning. So how's the setup going. It going fine for the most part.

...So I was on Gumtree the other day looking for a cheapo white tv stand...Now don;t ask me how it happened I ended up with another Dell 34 ultrawide monitor. Some guy was selling it cheap like only 400 pounds I thought it was a scam but agreed to meet just to satisfy my curiosity. As luck would have it or not in my case the guy removed a large box. THen I knew I was going to end up with another one... Turns out it even better than the one I got from OCUK. THe one I have from OCUK has some IPS glow but this one has very very minimal next to none ips glow as far as IPS screens go. And it only cost me 400 quid:)

Then last night I was on the OCUK forums making a post to sell my macbook pro retina. But while I was doing this I also opened up another window to see what's for sale and lo and behold I got shafted again. So now I am owner of a Dell XPS 15 as well...It arrives in the next few days...and I still haven't finished the post to sell my Macbook. IN fact I don't think I will I am going to put them head to head as I love that kind of stuff.

As always pics to follow although it might be some time as I am moving rooms.

So GorkedWings, have you made any further additions to the new build, or are you waiting for the GTX 1000 range?

GorkedWings19 isn't interested in mainstream parts. He is all about the enthusiast/prosumer kit, and the i7-6950x is rumoured to be a ten core monster. Mostly likely he'll go for the maximum 128GB RAM supported by eight x 16GB DDR4 modules, because as he always told me; you either go big or go home!
