Hi guys, So I've got this spec PC, and think my CPU is a bit weak. I can only really upgrade to an i7 3770 (I think), with this motherboard, as it's the LGA1155 sockect. AsRock Z68 Pro3 Intel i5 2500K 8GB RAM GTX 760 Below are the specs for Watchdogs, which is a game released in a few days, which I'd like to play as a break from BF4 Recommended Spec DirectX 11 graphics card with 2 GB Video RAM (e.g. NVidia GTX 560 ti, AMD Radeon HD 7850) Four core Intel or Eight core AMD (e.g. Intel Core i7-3770, AMD FX-8350) Ultra Spec Latest DirectX 11 graphics card with 2 GB Video RAM or more (e.g. Nvidia GTX 670, AMD Radeon HD 7970) Latest Six core Intel or Eight core AMD (e.g. Intel Core i7-3930K, AMD FX-9370) Thanks guys!
I'd get the game first and see how your current rig does. If you are playing BF4 without much hassle I don't see the CPU being a big enough bottleneck to need upgrading. Your GTX760 would be something that would have a larger impact on your performance in my mind. In any case it is better to wait until proper reviews are out analysing this data and if you plan on getting it either way to evaluate your rig yourself before getting an upgrade.
your not far off of recommended spec so as above id say run it 1st and see how well it does before upgrading the cpu i doubt there many that can match the full ultra settings for cpu
I'm planning on running it with my low power ivy i5 so would assume you'll be fine, although I do have a GTX 670 too.
Here is a rundown on CPU performance in Watch Dogs: http://www.techspot.com/review/827-watch-dogs-benchmarks/page5.html As you can see the Intel Core i5 CPUs handle the game just as well as the i7s and the FX8350 is only 3 FPS behind. I don't think it is worth getting a new CPU just for a couple FPS, your i5 2500K is very close in performance to the i5 3570K.
Holy **** my i5 (4670k) performs just as well as i7 (4960X). Thanks for the benchmarks Noxvayl. Now i feel like i choose the right stuff for my budget pc.
I've been talking to someone with a Phenom II 925 @ 3.3 and a 760 GTX and they are getting 45-60 med/high settings. I've not checked my fps but its very playable on high and I personally like to scale the lighting effects back as it looks a bit 'off' in the day night looks very good though. Had some slowdown in ultra twice in twenty minutes so is playable but will probably tweak the setting a bit more to find my sweet spot.
i am running it on ultra settings with my i5-3570k and gtx780ti i ve noticed some load time and gfx glitchs in some areas where i have not visited before but near get after i have been around awhile and racing in Pawnee in the afternoon sunset looks incredible Fish what is you ubisoft name so can add you to friends and maybe play some online stuff together
mine on uplay is Starfire_Knight really need to create a new account for ubisoft games so can change name
http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=390114 details of how to get the old "amazing" graphics details in watchdogs, well at least some of them.
I used that mod, SexyHyde, for about a month, gotta say it looks amazing, far camera is bugged to **** though and the effect is a bit too strong. Like **** is blurred out from 50meters away. Nevertheless it looks pretty badass and finally adds proper shadows.
I quite like it myself, I can't see what they removed the settings for, hardly impacts performance. I heard the ability to implement this "mod" (it's not a mod, as this is just activating code that already exists) has been removed with the latest update. Luckily I have a version that won't update.
