New fone coming today http://www.htc.com/uk/smartphones/htc-one-m8/ Apparently they have improved a lot over the HTC One from last year and I leveraged my 14 years with O2 to get it for free and at £20 per month less than im paying now with unlimited everything. (Business contract). Will post thoughts later. Anyone heard anything about this unit?
My sister reckons the HTC One was better, but that is because she has the HTC One. It looks like an awesome phone from the specs and I like the unibody metal shell. The camera on the HTC One is awesome and with the added focus feature this one should be even better. With 2300mAh battery in the old HTC One my sister got her battery to last all day so I expect this to have at least that good a battery life with a 2600mAh battery; its not as impressive as the Sony battery life figures but still good. That is an awesome deal that you got it on.
I'm on LG G2 at the moment and I'm very happy with it. Battery life is usually 48h on normal use, so pretty good. Let us know Filthy how new HTC one is doing!
The new sense 6 has a new set of battery efficiencies which get 40% more usage out of a charge. The screens are super lcd which I think are the best out there. You only have a 4mp camera on the back but it takes much better pictures than nearly every other phone in low light due to them being a larger 'ultra pixel' variety. There isn't much difference in normal outdoor conditions. The secondary camera enables lytro like effects so you can refocus a picture after its taken. It's an awesome phone, you got it at a killer price too. It was going to be my next upgrade, but I think I'll be grabbing the OnePlus One. Let us know what you think of it. The dot matrix case looks really nice too enabling you to make calls and do voice commands without having to open it.
So - initial thoughts. having had an iphone 4 for the last 2 years Its not really comparing with the latest other phones and Im adjusting to the subtleties between ios and android. So, full charge and the batt lasted 2 full days of me basically mashing it every spare minute. 6% and just gone on charge now. Screen is very nice, 5" and a lot bigger than the I phone. unit is really well made and feels great in the hand. Not really tried the camera, but the couple i did take look good too. 4G capable but not tried that yet, and on wifi its as fast as u like, even with lots of apps running. (Most was 16 things running at once so far) Sound is really good with the twin speakers, and althought the earbuds they provided doesnt have in line volume, it does come with a selection of sponge fittings which was nice. They also provided a tailored gel cover with protection flap for the connection points. if it wasnt ugly opaque grey and clashed with my amber gold fone I would already have fitted it Very very nice fone is my initial impression and i would definitely recommend it. having never previously used android its difficult to tell if some of the functionality feels better because of the fone or the operating system. benchmarks? - What sort of thing would u like to see, and are there programmes for getting them?
I love android( nexus 5 man ) antutu is a good test to try matey - you will get used to it and never go back
