My wife is planning to buy a new Smartphone but can't decide which one. I'm not too sure either, so need you help and opinion.

She is a great fan of iPhone 5S but it's bloody expensive and I hate Apple so told her to forget about an iphone :D

What do you think about HTC One and how does it compare to other smartphones on the market (she doesn't wont a Samsung S4).

Maybe you have some other ideas?

    Thanks!

Thanks guys. I've read few reviews about nexus 5 and it seems to be a good phone. I'll see what she says, but she's not getting iphone 5s !! :D and yes, she is smarter, nicer and more beautiful than I am, but she's still not getting an iphone :D

my wife is getting an iphone 5s :) I love mine more than you love yours :)

Seriously though, she is complaining about it...this is really funny. She said she doesnt want to get rid of her broken beat up iphone 4 (cracked screen, home button works ever 5th push). She sas she can deal with learning a new phone :) I tried to explain to here the OS would be the same, and all the buttons are the same but she still is freaking out :) lol

The reason she's not getting an iphone is because I love her more than yours....

    .... I mean you. I mean you love yours, I mean .... :D

The problem with the HTC One and others of that ilk, the S3 and S4, is that they're pretty big - it depends if that would be an issue.

An S3 or S4 Mini might be a decent choice, Android, small form, and with reasonable power.

Apple (iTunes) is awful, so you're doing her a favour, just to mix up you could always go Nokia, Windows Phone

Personally I'd go with Android for the foreseeable future, unless MS up their game. Never been a fan of Apple so wouldn't even consider an iPhone.

As the others have said Nexus 5 is great handset, or the Moto G if you want a budget blower. As for Windows Phone, we're migrating all our BlackBerry users at work to Nokia Lumia 520's, it's a decent handset. We also got some 620's in which were a little more expensive but slightly better spec, although with a smaller screen.

oh my god, fire whomever made that decision! seriously, billions of dollars lost a year, they have no chance...they never innovate.

Ok, so one of my guys says for the budget mobile product go lenovo, and buy direct from china....dont ask me for details, i buy my apple chinese products from local over priced resellers :)

It's a massive saving. Handsets are half the price, contracts are cheaper and it all works with Exchange 2010 via ActiveSync so no BES server needed.

uh, contracts have nothing to do with handsets, if your company thinks so, again, fire someone or three. We as one of the top consumers in CZ of mobile and data minutes pay penny's on the dollar for our service. We buy our phones from an electronic retailer, not the carrier, nothing is subsidised.

I know that. But the telco's like to charge more for BlackBerry contracts than they do for smartphones contracts, hence the migration.

No need to fire anyone, it's been thoroughly planned.

    It's a battle, I guess :)

So, now me thinks we either want Nexus 5 or LG G2. Can't decide.....

She doesn't want anything with the name "mini"... I don't know what she means by that :D

She means she already has one... :)

I didn't look at the Lenovo device but my colleague thinks it is the perfect wife friendly smart phone. Don't really know.

One thing about the nexus though, upgrading it is easy :) and sometimes necessary.

The nexus 7 vs. the asus tablet. Same hw, but way more upgradable as a google nexus then an asus tab.
