Interesting to see a phone use CyanogenMod as standard, will make loads of customisers very happy. I don't like the massive screen though, I find my 4.5" Moto G screen to be marginally too big to comfortably use with one hand and that is what I need from a phone, good one handed use not a screen just small enough to fit in your pocket.

May I ask what you will find beneficial about the large screen that makes it an attractive feature?

To many a 5 - 5.5" screen is just the norm these days.

Falls into the same price bracket as the Google Nexus range, and without doing any proper research, I know which one I would prefer.

I'll have a read though as I'll be looking to replace my Nexus 4 later in the year, funds permitting.

It's a 5.5" in the same size as rival 5" smartphones, so the size shouldn't be that much of an issue. I've got a 4.7" at the minute and could get slightly bigger with no problem. CyanogenMod is a slightly modified version but is supported by Cyanogen themselves for 2 years.

I've got my upgrade options down to this, HTC One M7/M8 or HTC Desire 816. Being a HTC fan i'm shocked to have this at the top of my list.

I like the Sony phones at the moment. Great battery life, camera and performance; it is at a premium price point, although not as ridiculous as Apple.

I am very pleased with my Sony Xperia Z1 Compact; it's like the Sony Xperia Acro S, but with twice as many cores and RAM.

Is there any review site yet?

Non yet, as no one outside OnePlus and Cyanogen has seen the phone. The reveal is on the 23/04, there hasn't been any leaks as OnePlus has been asking what people want and sourcing and making the phone accordingly. Pete Lau created the company after leaving Oppo, where he was the VP. All being well I'll pick one up on release.

Cyanogen are a third party ROM maker and normally have to work through a lack of drivers and source code. They have full access to everything with the OnePlus One, they have also been contracted to 2 years of updates - which is about 6 months more than HTC.

The design is nice on the outside in my eyes and the phone has the option to use hardware or software buttons.

The smash you phone promo has not been revealed yet, but it does seem a bit wasteful and dangerous, this has been brought up on the OnePlus forums.

The phone retails in the UK for £229 16GB and £269 64GB. They are not charging a premium for extra storage and you can always USB OTG.
I think the non-removable battery was a cost issue and they have put a massive 3100 mAh battery in so its plenty big, the whole removable battery seems to be something Samsung users say without actually using a spare battery, I don't know anyone that uses spare batteries now, although I did about 5 years ago.
Wireless charging I'll admit would have been nice, but, it's not really taken off if we are honest. But with removable backs it should be easy to hotwire it up if you really want it.
Band 20 LTE is due to them making one phone for worldwide use. The established companies make different version for different world regions. 4G/LTE is a big deal in America but not as big here in the UK, we use band 20 but most people are still happy with 3G and WiFi. It all down to the amount of coverage we have, compared to the US.

For the price this thing is a beast. It's Note 3 size, with a better spec, minus the Samsung apps. The invite system is a bit of a pain. Unless I get an invite quick. I'm guessing general availability will be 6-8 weeks from now.

I would have loved to keep my HTC One X but three charges a day and struggling to do multitasking. I really do believe its the Tegra at fault.
