I don't think anyone had anywhere near as much stock as was claimed.

When I ordered mine, Scan's delivery date immediately went to "expected Nov 30th", and Currys sent me an email saying "Sorry, your delivery is delayed". It looks like it's going to be the end of the month before most people get their processors.

On the plus side, the Ryzen 5 3600 I ordered from eBay yesterday has already arrived, so I can at least build the new rig and get the BIOS updated in preparation for the 5950x. It's been a long time since I've had a processor with pins on it; having had nothing but Intel processors for the past decade, I'd gotten used to LGA. I hope the heatsink is easier to mount than those bastard Socket A ones from back in the day.

Got an email from Scan this morning, apparently I am 251 in the queue for a 5950x. No idea how long it's going to be until they get stock, so no indication as to when it might arrive.

Any joy with your 5900x, MG?

251 isn't that bad when I've read those that are like 750+ in line.

I suppose not. According to the FAQ there are 551 in the queue for a 5950x at Scan. No ETA on when the next batch will arrive, nor how many will be in it. I just hope it's not like the recent NVIDIA launch where they come in drips and drabs. If they get a few hundred a week, or whatever, then it won't be so bad.

No news from Currys, so I don't yet know which order I should cancel. Tempted to sell the first one that arrives on eBay for £950 or whatever the scalpers are charging, and then use the second one myself. This Ryzen 5 3600 is actually a pretty decent processor, so I am not in a huge rush for the 5950x

If you can sell one for a nice little profit do that it'll make it even sweeter when you do get the 5950x.

I installed the AMD Ryzen Master and used it to set an automatic OC, results are a bit better now - 26856 mutlicore is an improvement of about 7%

When you set auto oc does it remember the setting at each boot?

Got my 5900x installed today, runs cooler than my 3700x. Done some stress tests and it hasn't went over 62c under load.

Looks good chief! That 3080 is a bit of a beast. I think my system gets about 10k on Time Spy. What cooling do you have that's keeping the temperatures so low? Mine was hitting 75°c at full load with a Noctua NH-D15.

Pretty sure the Ryzen Master maintains the settings across reboots.

Corsair H115i Platinum, gave it a good clean today.

Got a problem when running games, my 5900x is locked to it's base clock and won't budge from 3.7

If i run say any of the Cinebenches it'll boost fine.

How can you tell? Are you checking it via CPU-Z while you have a game running or something?

After doing a full re-install It was reporting the same in-game (asus gpu tweak II).

I hooked up another display to watch ryzen master whilst gaming and some of the cores were going over the base clock so I think it's just normal in that the cpu just doesn't need to boost so much when it doesn't need to.

It boosts fine when running cinebench.

Got sent another far cry 6 key just a few I sold the first one, bonus.

I forgot about the Far Cry offer, I should check that out
