So this arrived! The Steam Link i'm very impressed with. The controller is going to take a bit more testing, as it's a lot of change.
OK steam link is great, works great just puts big picture mode on what ever it's plugged into. I've used it with the steam controller and two xbox 360 pads, all work great. Not tried it with kb/mouse but with three USB ports it should be fine. The unit itself is a bit wider than 5" smartphone, it looks tiny, but does have some weight to it, the bottom also is about 80% rubber so it shouldn't move around. The controller is a bit hit and miss. The x button is uncomfortably just out of reach, the shoulder buttons feel too high too. It feels quite light but doesn't impact the feel of quality. The haptic feedback feels strange, but I think I actually prefer it over the vibration in the xbox pads. The touch pads take a bit of getting used to, BUT, I have had a few times were I was able to 'zone in' and the level of control is substantially higher than the thumb sticks we have been used to. Fps were finally no painful, it's not a mouse and keyboard, but I liked it. Maybe more single player than multilayer though. You guys have any questions?
you have to plug the wireless dongle in to one of the three usb ports. but i've had my two 360 pads and the steam controller all going at the same time for some split screen action.
There are three settings something like performance, balanced and beautiful. I've only had it on balanced and it's always looked and performed just like when I had the system plugged directly into the TV. I've not noticed any loss of quality or performance. It might be different playing twitchy fps but I've not set it up for that. Borderlands Pre Sequel was perfectly fine on the pad and link.
