So at the moment i've got good old ASUS GTX 560 Ti (DC II) which still runs BF4 on preset high setting at stable 30fps. But i just really want a nice cheap upgrade. I'm looking for GTX 760 or GTX 770 but any other suggestions are very welcome. Also my budget for this upgrade is 250 pounds max. Thanks in advance.

I would get the Asus 280X DirectCU II TOP: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/3gb-...gddr5-gpu-1070mhz-2048-cores-dvi-d-hdmi-dport

The reason I'd choose that over the equivalent GTX770 is because it comes with 3GB of memory whereas the GTX770 only has 2GB at your price point, with newer games being tailored for consoles with 8GB of memory the more you have the better your graphics card will perform in the future. I also prefer the games bundle AMD offer with a choice of 3 games rather than getting Watch Dogs from nVidia. Performance wise they are very close, BF4 favours the 280X while games like Crysis 3 favour the GTX770, swings and roundabout really.

Thanks for detailed answer. But i don't like radeon cards. I don't know, i guess it's just me having nvidia cards for entire life :D
Speaking of games they offer, i don't really need watch dogs nor the 3 free games radeon offers. All i am playing is DayZ, Dota 2 and BF4. And DayZ for some reason runs @20fps while maxed out bf3 runs at 30-40 fps with GTX560Ti. Also VRAM is a bit of a marketing thing ^^ it depends on GPU a lot. See nvidia GT series as example.

EDIT: After a little research i think i will stick to this one: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-179-GW&tool=3

    Still need some more suggestions!

We aren't using graphics cards that have slow GPU's, in different performance segments different aspects of the card provide the bottleneck to higher performance. The reason AMD do better at higher resolutions is because they offer more memory and have higher bandwidth to transfer high res textures. With high res textures becoming increasingly common it is likely that in future games your performance will suffer because the GPU is processing data faster than it can be supplied by the memory.

At the moment cards have more memory than games utilise so therefore performance is determined by the speed that the GPU can process polygons, but that isn't going to be the case with newer games coming out using more memory with higher resolution textures. So when games need more than 2GB of memory your card will have a larger performance drop than competing cards with more memory.

If you are going to spend £250 and it has to be nVidia then your only option is the GTX770 2GB: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-...-gpu-1150mhz-boost-1202mhz-cores-1536-dport-d

Alrighty i took your advice. I bought the same model you gave me just the 4GB edition. I guess better be safe than sorry. Should i arrive from OCuK in around 2days. Can't wait!!!

Should be a nice performance boost for you. You should be able to play BF4 at maximum settings and still get higher frame rates than you currently get.

    Obviously :D

I am just concerned with DayZ as frankieonpcin1080p has a badass rig but still plays it on lowest settings due to poor optimization, but we shall see if i get that boost from 20fps.
