I've been having issues with BF4, stuttery play making for a not very good experience , no problems with BF3 - I know it's older - but I am running an i7 920, 6G RAM and a 5850, not brilliant but it should be fine at Medium. Now I've been thinking it was traffic conditioning, graphic card, upgrade time, etc., all the usual suspects. Then while poking around the web I came across this, admittedly rather old, thread, Windows 7 & Core Parking. Basically this details a, reversible, registry "fix" to turn off CPU core parking - as you might expect this will mean you use slightly more power. As it says: "some CPU cores will be "turned off" / "parked" depending on load and they will be dynamically turned on or off and dynamically loaded up or down as the system deems necessary - the scope for glitches / pops / clicks / dropouts etc.... in such an environment is simply enormous" So far, it does seem to have made a difference to me - could be the internet gods are smiling on me for once - but still, I thought I'd share in case others want to try it
